3 Budget Friendly Cocktail Recipes with Fun Wine®

May 22, 2020 by Alisha 1 Comment

*Must be 21+ to visit Fun Wine®*

Remember back in the old days when you could just meet up with your friends and hit up your favorite spot for cocktails out on the patio?  Oh the memories of just a few months ago…

Seriously who knew that our worlds would be turned upside down and changed so much that our new normal has become what it is today!  If you’re like me then you know the show must go on but now it just looks a bit, shall we say…different?  Fun Wine® reached out to me  with three of their award-winning flavors: Red Sangria, Strawberry Rose Moscato and Coconut Chardonnay.  The best is that they are all low-calorie, low-alcohol and budget-friendly.  Artist and Designer Miguel Paredes brought his sense of New York Graffiti art to these three bottles and its like having my own little art gallery on display but on wine bottles.  Win-win!

I have three easy recipes that I wanted to share with you to add a bit of fun to your at home cocktails.  I ended up making Miguel’s Colada.  Took me just a few minutes to make and was so good.  I even played some Caribbean music while I enjoyed it on my pation.

Miguel’s Colada

2 oz Barcelo rum

Frozen pineapple or coconut

 Fun Wine’s Coconut Chardonnay

Blend all ingredients until frosty and serve on a chilled glass

The next recipe is Chocolate Strawberry Negroni.  This one totally reminds me of chocolate covered strawberries!

Chocolate Strawberry Negroni

1 oz Aperol Spritz or Campari

Dash Chocolate Bitters

4 oz Fun Wine’s Strawberry Rose Moscato

Serve on rocks

And the last recipe just calls for a chilled bottle or serve over ice!  Can’t get any easier than that!

Which cocktail would you make first?  If you decide to try out  Fun Wine® be sure to visit them on instagram at @funwineofficial or their website funwine.com. Be sure to also tag #FUNathome if you share any pictures on social media too!

*I was provided with complementary bottles of wine. All opinions are my own. Drink responsibly.*

When Was The Last Time Someone Asked “Are you ok?”

October 21, 2019 by Alisha 1 Comment

One of my friends shared this interview on her instagram account and it truly struck a nerve.  Here’s a woman, a Duchess, that from the outside you would think that life has got to be pretty good for her.  I mean she’s the Duchess of Sussex!  But then I realize that she’s still a woman and new mother.  So many of us have been right where she is but luckily for us we weren’t under the scrutiny of media and an entire country watching our every move.

Last week, ITV news released a clip of an upcoming documentary Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and after such a simple question of “are you doing ok” you could see in her eyes that she was not.  She even answered the interviewer by saying “not many people have asked if I’m ok”.  Wow!

Our society always put so much emphasis on woman looking and acting a certain way even during pregnancy.  People go out of there way to point out when celebrities aren’t looking their best, have put on too much weight or have expressed how being pregnant was one of the most stressful experiences.  And then once you’ve become a new mom everything is so focused on the snapback and how quickly you lost the baby weight. The Comfy® Helps Keep You Cozy and Fight Breast Cancer

October 17, 2019 by Alisha 4 Comments

Lo One of the best perks of working from home is that I get to wear anything I want. One of the cons is that since I work overnights, during the colder months I swear my office decides it wants no parts of the central heat. I was so happy when I learned about The Comfy®! This would mean I didn’t have to pull out my little space heater and waste electricity trying to keep myself warm.

The Comfy® & Barbara Corcoran to Donate 50K to Susan G. Komen® in its Fight to End Breast Cancer.

The #ComfyCares initiative is partnering with Susan G. Komen® in launching their new Comfy and Comfy Feet.

The Comfy‘s NEW Susan G. Komen limited edition Comfy! One part oversized sweatshirt and one part super snuggly blanket. This is perfect for any chilly weather walk/runs, a gift for a survivor or loved one of a survivor or as a way to give back! My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago and I’m always amazed by her strength and her fighting spirit. I’m even happier to say that she’s been cancer free since getting her double mastectomy. She is definitely my hero.

The Comfy® turns every situation into a cozy one. With the addition of Comfy Feet, wearers can enjoy head to toe warmth while finding comfort in giving back.

Quick & Easy Veggie Chili Recipe

September 27, 2019 by Alisha 4 Comments

I heard somewhere that Fall has officially begun  -_-

In Nashville its still fifty eleven hundred degrees outside and we’re dealing with a moderate drought.  So while I have the a/c blasting I can pretend it feels like fall and make one of my favorite dishes…chili!

The grocery store and I have a love/hate relationship.  I love food but hate grocery shopping.  LOL

Year before last I was vegan for the entire year! I noticed how much better I felt and even lost some weight!  One of the hardest things in the beginning was trying to figure out how to get what I needed without going to a specialty grocery store.

Chili is one of my favorite comfort foods and its super easy to make.  I typically have most of the ingredients in my pantry and just need fresh vegetables.
