Mull Over the Holidays with the Perfect Drink – Mulled Sweet Wine with Cognac

I don’t know about you but this time of year always seems to creep up so dang quick! A few days ago it was almost 80 degrees in Nashville and now its in the lower 50s. Mother Nature can’t seem to get her life together and let folks deal with temperature changes gradually. She likes to just toy with our emotions and drop the temp 30 degrees overnight.

The good part of this sudden arctic blast of air is that now I can actually get myself into the holiday season. The bad part is that even the cold weather isn’t getting rid of my Grinch mood. If it wasn’t for being a parent I would probably just throw a Christmas wreath on the front door and call it a day. I’m determined to wait until Thanksgiving before we put the tree up and I’ve got the perfect drink to get me in the mood.

Last year I shared a mulled wine recipe and it was a big hit. This year we are kicking it up a notch by adding cognac. If you’re planning to host parties this year, this drink will be sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit! And the best part about making this drink is that you don’t need any fancy ingredients that can only be found at that one store 20 miles away and cost a small fortune.

Ingredients:

2 cups good red wine
1/2 cup cognac
1/4 rosemary honey
2 1/2 cups honey crisp apple cider
2 cinnamon sticks
orange slices
6 whole cloves

Exciting News for Wine Lovers!

Finally after all the blood, sweat and tears Wine’ing Momma Tees are available for purchase! *throws confetti* I’ve been talking about having my own line of funny wine inspired shirts for years but could never quite figure out how I wanted to go about it. There were so many factors that stopped me along the way like fear, failing and wondering if anyone would even give a damn about wanting to actually buy this type of shirt.

Well I finally put all of that crap behind me and just decided to go for it. If there’s one thing I’ve learned its that if you don’t put it out there then how in the world is anyone going to be able to support you! I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by a group of very encouraging people that tell me to “get off my ass and get my shit” together. I can so hear Dani and Michelle saying that right now. And Rose for always letting me vent to her when I’m having issues trying to embed stuff or get the design right. Welcome to Wine’ing Momma!!!

First off…welcome!!! Thank you all so much for joining me today as Wine’ing Momma makes her debut! This has been a long time coming and I’m so happy that my new look and name have finally happened! Now it wasn’t easy and there were many days along the way that I was looking like the image below! But I survived!!! Thank gawd for wine! LOL
