Coilylocks (now known as Wine’ing Momma) has been around for about 7 years but I didn’t really start to get serious about blogging until 2 years ago. After I attended my first conference, Blogalicious, I was hooked. I was in awe at all of the talented people who I met from literally all over the world. And what was even cooler was meeting some of the people who had become internet friends in real life.

Little did I know that there was an amazing community of bloggers, writers and social influencers right here in Nashville. I’ve had the opportunity to make some new connections with brands and friendships because of this group of local women. [Read more…]

If I Had a Personal Assistant #NaBloPoMo

As a mom, heck as a grown up period, there are like a million trillion things that I dread I have to do each day. If I had a personal assistant, here’s a list of all that crap that I’d have them do:

My youngest daughter’s hair!!! *no explanation needed* LOL
Someone to do laundry. It’s not so much that I don’t like washing clothes, it’s the folding, putting up…blah blah blah. Yea I won’t even mention how I still have two loads of clothes sitting in my basket that have yet to be put up -_-
Going to the grocery store. Ok so for this one I’m thankful that my husband (for some odd reason) likes grocery shopping. I despise everything about it and would rather run a marathon than go buy groceries.
Cook. If it wasn’t for my kids I would probably have a house full of box mac-n-cheese, cereal and stuff to make sandwiches.
Helping with homework. There’s a reason I switched my major from Elementary Education.
Clean the house. This is right up there with grocery shopping. I feel like my house is being taken over by Barbies and art supplies.
Make my wine runs for me. I swear I always seem to run out when Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder are coming on. I NEED some wine to get through those 2 shows…LOL!
Keeping me organized. I write stuff down in my planner…yea that’s it. I write it down then forget to actually go back to see what needs to be done. SMH

Vitiligo Coverage with No Worries Cosmetics #NaBloPoMo

During the summer I stumbled across a cosmetics company on twitter by the name of No Worries Cosmetics. What caught my eye was that their foundation was no sweat….no sweat people! I spent all summer in Florida and I literally wore makeup one time. And that was to meet up with some of my blogging/social media boos when I went to Jacksonville.

After checking out the site I tweeted the owner, Jill, of No Worries Cosmetics and said that her products would be a god send in this sweltering Florida heat. While reviewing her site I also noticed that she had products that would help with vitiligo coverage. At that point I knew I had to reach out to them to learn more.

In case you missed it, my youngest daughter begin developing vitiligo last summer (read Morgan’s story) and she begin wanting to hide her skin by wearing leggings ALL THE TIME. During the cooler months, that was all fine and dandy but when that summer heat hit I knew she’d end up having a heat stroke trying to stay covered up! I had a chance to speak with the Jill on the phone about their products and I just LOVED the passion she had for her products. When I shared Morgan’s story she stated that she wanted to send her some of their products to try.

When your turkey nail art looks like poo…LITERALLY #NaBloPoMo

It’s that time of year when I attempt my pathetic hand at nail art. And each year they get sadder lol. But what stresses me out more is the fact that I’m not crafty at all and my girls love decorating for the holidays.

I have less than a month to get it together and that means I’ll have to get our sad Charlie Brown Christmas Tree out of the attic soon to decorate it. I swear if I didn’t have kids all I’d be doing is decorating the mantle with some holiday crap and call it a day. Now the little one wants the house decorated with lights all over the darn place. She’d be pretty happy if we had it set up like the Griswold’s!

Yea that’s NOT gonna happen! Now on to my Thanksgiving inspired turkey nail art. I always have these wonderful nail art ideas in my head and try to be optimistic that they will turn out perfect. I’m gonna let go of that dream and just be happy with whatever crazy looking nail art I end up with. LOL [Read more…]
