Our Day at Legoland Park in Florida

April 17, 2018 by Alisha 3 Comments

Every year when we go to visit my mom in the Orlando area the first question people ask is “Are you all going to Disneyworld?”  And my answer is always, nope!  LOL  I sometimes feel like people that there’s only one theme park in Florida.  There are so many amazing things to do in the Orlando area.   Legoland is a newer park aimed at kids up to 12 years old and their families.  But if you’re not much of a thrill seeker but LOVE LEGO® than this park is great for us big kids too!

Legoland is typically open 7 days a week and their hours fluctuate between 10a-5p, 10a-6p and 10a-7p.  Be sure to check out their website before you plan your trip!  The day Morgan and I went we got there around 11a.  I figured that would be a good time and boy was I wrong!  We ended up spending almost 30 minutes in traffic just to enter the parking lot.  Parking is $17 for cars so keep that in mind too!

Once we entered the park the first thing we wanted to get on was the Great LEGO® Race.  The ride to get on was going to be almost 2 hours!  Lawd…so yea we decided to check back before we would leave for the day.  Luckily there were a lot of other rides that she wanted to get on.  While we were there we ran into one of my good friend Michelle of  Divas with a Purpose.  You have no idea what a lifesaver that was for my sanity!  Going to a place like this is always more fun when your child has other kids to hang with and get on the rides. I’m Tired!

April 17, 2018 by Alisha 6 Comments

I’m tired of ignorant people

I’m tired of white people telling me to get over it

I’m tired of black people telling what to boycott

I’m tired of listening to a president that don’t know what TF he’s talking about

I’m tired of mansplaining

I’m tired of black people getting shot by police for nothing

I’m tired of people telling me they don’t see color

I’m tired of having to prove I’m “woke” enough

I’m tired tired of people selling BS pipe dreams when that’s not how they got there

I’m tired of people shaming those that have mental illness

I’m tired of assuming everyone has common sense

Fuck…I’m tired!

Happy National Margarita Day!

February 22, 2018 by Alisha Leave a Comment

Known to be the most common tequila-based cocktail served in the United States, the margarita is a cocktail that typically consists of tequila, triple sec and lime or lemon juice.  A margarita on the rocks can pack anywhere from 450 to 800 calories, but Sparkling Ice makes it easy to make great-tasting margarita with only a fraction of the calories.  That way you have more room to indulge in more cocktails or eat more food.  The choice is yours…LOL!

On this fun day I’m sharing some great recipes that will take your margarita drinks to the next level and the hit of the party.  My favorite is the Spicy Sparkling Margarita!  Yummmmmmmm 😛

Spicy Sparkling Margarita

INGREDIENTS

2 parts Blanco Tequila

½ part Cointreau

3 slices of Jalapeño pepper

Juice of 1/8 lime

1 ½ parts Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime

DIRECTIONS

Shake Tequila, Cointreau, lime juice and peppers with ice. Pour into rocks glass with salted rim and lime wedge. Top with Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime. [Read more…]

5 Places You Don’t Want to Miss When Visiting Santa Claus, Indiana for the Holidays!

December 11, 2017 by Alisha 1 Comment

*Disclaimer:  I was provided with complimentary lodging and tickets.  No other compensation was provided.*

Last weekend the girls and I were invited to spend the weekend in Santa Claus, Indiana.  If you know anything about me then you know I’m pretty much a Grinch and a bit of a Scrooge.  I don’t try to be but something about this time of year just stresses me out and makes me want to hurry the month along.

When the Spencer County Visitor’s Bureau reached out to me I took this as a sign that maybe I need to stop being so Bah Humbug about the Christmas season and try to just roll with the flow.  I mean the city is named Santa Claus  so clearly it’s going to be festive and get you in the mood to enjoy the holidays.

Lake Rudolph Campground & R.V. Resort

The girls and I stayed at Lake Rudolph Campground & R.V. Resort.  There are several different types of cabins and RVs on the site and we stayed in the Rudolph Christmas Cabins.  The Rudolph’s Christmas Cabins feature a master bedroom with a King bed, large loft with a queen mattress and 4 twin-size mattresses, 3 flat screen TVs, electric fireplace, gas grill, fire ring, and a very large covered deck with a lighted Christmas tree!  It was so cute inside and totally reminded me of all the tiny houses that I always see when watching HGTV!
