Christmas in Santa Claus, Indiana!

December 24, 2021 by Alisha 4 Comments

*Disclaimer:  I was provided with complimentary lodging and tickets.  No other compensation was provided.*

A few weekends ago the girls and I took a little road trip from Nashville to Santa Claus, Indiana.  It’s a perfect drive because takes less than 3 hours to get there.  I’m all about road trips that are under 4 hours!

Now if you’re anything like my friend Natasha of Houseful of Nicholes then this is definitely the place for you. The town is spreads holiday joy 365 days a year.  A fun fact about the name of the town is that they were originally going to be named Santa Fe but there was already a town by that name in Indiana.

Spencer County Visitor’s Bureau was gracious enough to reach out again and took charge by planning a great weekend of fun for my daughters, mom and me.  We hung out in the city for 3 days 2 nights and were hosted by Santa’s Lodge.  The front part of the hotel used to be a barn and the rest of the hotel was added on.  The hotel has a restaurant, Santa’s Toy Shop, a gift shop and indoor pool.  Everything you need is almost within walking distance but this time of year its a bit chilly so its better to hop in the car.

Add Watch Ya Mouth to Your Next Family Game Night

December 22, 2018 by Alisha 2 Comments

*I was provided with product for review.  All opinions are my own*

Watch Ya’ Mouth 90s Edition will take you back to a brighter, more simple time when Scrunchies were cool and LL Cool J was only known for rapping. With the 90s bundle, you get twice the content and nostalgia for days! Booya!

From the company that made Watch Ya’ Mouth, the top selling, original, award-winning party card game. Watch Ya’ Mouth: 90’s Edition combines the game play you’ve come to know and love with the nostalgia of all things 90’s. Bangin’ phrases such as “Billy Ray’s Mullet” and “Gameboy” will bring it all back for a night of dope fun! 3-10 players wear cheek retractors and speak out 90’s phrases while teammates guess what they are saying
Includes 300+ Family-Safe phrases. Great for all ages including kids who are 8+ but my 9 year old didn’t get some of the phrases or why we thought they were hilarious so I would def think that those in their early 20s and up would enjoy the humor a lot more! In order for my youngest daughter to play for a bit too we used the app so she’d be able to join in the fun as well and it worked like a charm!

What’s your favorite game to play for family game night? This one will def add a new big of side-splitting laughter for everyone involved. Watch Ya’ Mouth 90s Bundle – Save 30% off Watch Ya’ Mouth 90s Edition bundle pack by using the code “Flannel” HERE which also includes free shipping!

Still not convinced? Here’s a little video of just how much this game is for everyone! If you’ve played or plan to purchase it (link above) be sure to let me know and don’t forget to take lots of video LOL

Polly Pocket’s Tiny is Mighty Mall Tour is Coming to Nashville

October 31, 2018 by Alisha 2 Comments

Since I was born in the early 70s I didn’t get to enjoy the hype of Polly Pockets but I always thought they were so cool!  I would see kids discussing their love of the teeny toys and how much fun they were.  If you were a fan of this compact phenomenon back in the 90s, then now is your chance to share the fun with your kids and get a look at Polly Pocket’s world.

Mattel relaunched Polly Pocket this year with a new product line accompanied by an animated series to introduce a new generation to the world of Polly.  The series follows Polly and her friends as they embrace big adventures in a shrunken size, thanks to Polly’s magic locket.   Polly Pocket continues to inspire girls to be capable, courageous and tenacious in their own lives, just like her.

Polly Pocket Tiny is Mighty tour is going to have a ton of activities for both kids and their parents, as a way to celebrate the relaunch of Polly Pocket and for Polly to continue to inspire kids all over the world. [Read more…]

Tips for a Safe Pet Holiday

Tips for a Safe Pet Holida

This will be our 2nd Christmas with our dog, Murphy.  The good thing is that he’s pretty much done with all of that annoying puppy chewing and destroying of things that don’t belong to him…LOL!  But that doesn’t mean that he won’t become curious with all of the the commotion going on during the holidays.

Keeping your furry family members safe during the holidays can be a difficult task. Many pet parents plan to include their furry companions in the festivities. This holiday season, it’s important to be mindful of your pet’s eating and exercise habits. Also, remember to steer pets clear from harmful toys and other gifts. Dr. Julie Hansen, DVM, cVMA is the Program Chair of the Veterinary Technology program at Argosy University, Twin Cities. [Read more…]
