Tips for a Safe Pet Holiday

Tips for a Safe Pet Holida

This will be our 2nd Christmas with our dog, Murphy.  The good thing is that he’s pretty much done with all of that annoying puppy chewing and destroying of things that don’t belong to him…LOL!  But that doesn’t mean that he won’t become curious with all of the the commotion going on during the holidays.

Keeping your furry family members safe during the holidays can be a difficult task. Many pet parents plan to include their furry companions in the festivities. This holiday season, it’s important to be mindful of your pet’s eating and exercise habits. Also, remember to steer pets clear from harmful toys and other gifts. Dr. Julie Hansen, DVM, cVMA is the Program Chair of the Veterinary Technology program at Argosy University, Twin Cities. [Read more…]

Derevos: Natural and Stylish Solution to Protecting Your Pet & Yourself!

This past Summer I took Murphy to get his usual face, feet & fanny trim.  Came home with a puppy with less fur but more problems.  He had a tick on him and fleas!  Ugh!  I searched all over Google for some tips and tricks to try and naturally get rid of those pests and nothing worked.  Ended up buying one of those expensive collars but hated that it was so full of chemicals.

For many of us, our pets are more like family. They’re our best friends, companions, and keep our families from harm’s way- making it that much more important to keep them healthy and safe. And while we usually have only the best intentions when using flea and tick collars to keep pesky insects off of them, most don’t realize what kind of harsh chemicals we’re putting on our furry family members. In fact, the toxic sprays and repellents are incredibly dangerous, the pesticides commonly found in most flea collars often contain propoxur and tetrachlorvinphos (TCVP), which pose significant threats to both pets and humans.

Derevos is the revolutionary cedar wood pet collar for dogs and cats with powerful flea and tick repellent without harmful chemicals. Not only is cedar wood is the world’s natural defense against insects and fungus, but Derevos collars also boast stylish designs and pleasant aromas that pose no threat to pets or their families.

See why Derevos is quickly becoming the top choice of pet owners:

  • Safe for pets and their families: Contains no harmful chemicals or poisons
  • Long-lasting: Lasts two to three months, add a protection plan and be covered for 5 YEARS! You can also rejuvenate flea repellent by applying cedar oil to the collar
  • No more plastic collars: Choose from several beautiful Eastern Aromatic Red and Siberian Cedar Wood designs
  • Great for your pet and you: Derevos also offers bracelets and ankles. No more mosquito bites!

Pet Gift Box for Murphy

January 29, 2016 by Alisha 24 Comments

Last month we got a new addition to our already crazy family…a puppy!  Murphy is a 3-month-old Chinese Crested/Shih Tzu mix AKA Crested Tzu. If he’s not chasing his tail then he wants to be cuddled up right next to you.

And if he’s not cuddled up or within 2 feet of you he’s whining…LOL!  I’ll give him a pass since he’s still a puppy but he’s one spoiled rotten baby.  😉

Just like beauty box subscriptions and wine of the month clubs, you can now get a monthly subscription-based service that sends a themed box of hand-selected treats and toys specifically created for cats and dogs.  How cool is that?

When I heard about Pet Gift Box I couldn’t wait to try them out for Murphy.  Since we’ve only had our puppy for less than a month, we’re still trying to figure out what types of treats (he loves them ALL) and what kinds of toys he likes best to keep him entertained.  Pet Gift Box is perfect with helping us learn about new products.  Have you all been to pet stores lately?  Lawd there’s like a gagillion types of toys, shampoo, treats, foods…and don’t forget the clothes!  LOL [Read more…]
