Do you wanna build a snowman?

December 1, 2014 by Alisha 14 Comments

Happy first day of December!  I decided that since it’s officially “let’s get ready for Christmas” month I would try my hand at Winter and Holiday nail art.  Now as you all know I am by NO means an artist or professional when it comes to my nail art.  Unfortunately Instagram and Pinterest give me delusions of grandeur and I have these preconceived visions in my mind that my nail art will look exactly like the inspiration pictures.  Every now and then I get a win.  And when that happens I look just like this:

Now last week my poor little turkey nail art looked more like a “turdkey” to me than anything.  I know most of you were being kind with your comments, but trust me that brown blob looked crazy.  LOL  Now on the other hand when my nail art is more of a “fail” that excitement and celebration tends to be more like this:

“This post contains affiliate links. All opinions are my own.”

Last month I shared a post about this cool monthly subscription box that you could get during an introductory period for $5!  Luckily a few of you were able to snag it at that awesome rate and you should be receiving your boxes soon.  Peekapak is a new subscription box for children 4-8.  Peekapak is a hands-on storytelling adventure designed for busy parents to inspire imagination and learning in their children ages 4-8.  Each activity pack covers a new topic within an engaging storybook and two to three educator-designed activities.  They include all the materials to complete the crafts too!  I love the idea of combining crafts and books.  Peekapak is $19.99a month with discounts for longer subscriptions.  You can also get a sibling add on pack for $12.99 a month.   What’s in my Peekpak box this month?  Check it out!

Jord-fieldcrest-wooden-watches-wood-alisha-lampley-coilylocks-coliy-locks-review-giveaway 1

I was provided with a JORD Wood Watch for review purposes. No other compensation was received. As always all opinions are our own.

“A wood watch by JORD is a truly unique time piece hand-crafted from natural wood. The bands and movement housings can be made from one or more types of wood. The internal movements are sourced from the finest international watch manufacturers and the glass is a scratch proof “blue film” glass. If you are seeking a beautiful and unique time piece for your collection or simply need an expressive fashion accessory, a wood watch is your next talk piece.” [Read more…]

Mary J Blige – The London Sessions

November 21, 2014 by Alisha 2 Comments

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of attending a screening of MJB’s documentary The London Sessions during the Blogalicious conference in San Antonio, TX.  I had a chance to see another side of MJB that just blew me away and made me an even bigger fan.  Do y’all remember What’s The 411?  THAT was MJB’s debut album and I’ve been a fan ever since and that album was released in 1992. London Session Mary J Blige The London Sessions proves to be one of her best albums!  While Mary is still (in my eyes) the Queen of Hip Hop, this album also has a cool pop and club vibe as well.  There are the songs that make you want to get up and start dancing and then the ones where it’s like she is singing a song that was made for you.  My favorite track from her album is Whole Damn Year.
