Happy MANICure Monday! Last week I decided to shape my nails a different way to see how I would like them. Eh…not sure if I’m feeling the round shape or I was just so used to having them in more of a square shape. This week I decided to keep it nice and simple. I used Riveting by China Glaze and did some random swirly thing on my pointer finger…don’t ask!
Feel the burn baby!
Happy Monday to you all! So last week I talked about wanting to add weight lifting to my weekly regimen. Who knew it would be so darn hard to try and figure out a regimen. No offense to the Y, but they kinda suck ass when it comes to getting some help unless you have a personal trainer. And er…uh…the way my bank account is set up right now “Ain’t nobody got time for that!”
Now I will say I get the most bang for my buck from my YMCA because of the Zumba, Dance it Out classes and the awesome indoor pool. So I spent most of last week trying to figure out a workout program that I could do on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I finally found a great one to get me started and couldn’t be any happier. This picture right here pretty much explains how I felt after pumping some iron last week.
Who’s ready to build some muscles with me?
Happy Monday everyone! So lately I’ve been reading nothing but stuff about how important it is to do strength training IN addition to cardio. For the last 3 months I’ve been going hardcore with my aerobic dance classes which consist of Zumba and Dance it Out. And my legs and butt are in the best shape ever, but my core and the rest of me are just…blah! My goal is to tone up and lose another 15-20 pounds in addition to the 10 I lost over the last 3 months.
I’ve always been a bit leary of lifting weights because for some reason I always picture Jim Carrey’s character “Venus de Milo” from In Living Color!
Feature Friday | Bernadette’s Awesome Coily Curls
Happy Friday!!! I’ve been slacking on featuring the awesome natural hair of my curlfriends and wanted to jazz up things this week with Feature Friday.
I’ve known Bernadette since 4th or 5th grade. I won’t say how many decades that been, but it’s been a LONG time…LOL. I recently connected again with Bernadette through Facebook and immediately fell in love with her beautiful curls. Bernadette has been natural for about 1 1/2 years after transitioning for 2 years and keeps her styling regimen pretty simple. Now that’s some dedication right there! I think I transitioned for 3 months (with braids) then whacked it off right after I took the braids down…LOL!
Here’s how Bernadette gets her curls to pop:
