First off…can you believe that this school year is almost over?!?! Just a few weeks ago my girls and I spent a week in the Orlando area at my mom’s. My moved there about 3 years and we’ve taken full advantage of having somewhere to stay that feels just like home because it is! LOL And she can only tolerate us in small doses so a week or (4) here and there is enough for her! [Read more…]
Every year when we go to visit my mom in the Orlando area the first question people ask is “Are you all going to Disneyworld?” And my answer is always, nope! LOL I sometimes feel like people that there’s only one theme park in Florida. There are so many amazing things to do in the Orlando area. Legoland is a newer park aimed at kids up to 12 years old and their families. But if you’re not much of a thrill seeker but LOVE LEGO® than this park is great for us big kids too!
Legoland is typically open 7 days a week and their hours fluctuate between 10a-5p, 10a-6p and 10a-7p. Be sure to check out their website before you plan your trip! The day Morgan and I went we got there around 11a. I figured that would be a good time and boy was I wrong! We ended up spending almost 30 minutes in traffic just to enter the parking lot. Parking is $17 for cars so keep that in mind too!
Once we entered the park the first thing we wanted to get on was the Great LEGO® Race. The ride to get on was going to be almost 2 hours! Lawd…so yea we decided to check back before we would leave for the day. Luckily there were a lot of other rides that she wanted to get on. While we were there we ran into one of my good friend Michelle of Divas with a Purpose. You have no idea what a lifesaver that was for my sanity! Going to a place like this is always more fun when your child has other kids to hang with and get on the rides. [Read more…]

Last weekend the girls and I were invited to spend the weekend in Santa Claus, Indiana. If you know anything about me then you know I’m pretty much a Grinch and a bit of a Scrooge. I don’t try to be but something about this time of year just stresses me out and makes me want to hurry the month along.
When the Spencer County Visitor’s Bureau reached out to me I took this as a sign that maybe I need to stop being so Bah Humbug about the Christmas season and try to just roll with the flow. I mean the city is named Santa Claus so clearly it’s going to be festive and get you in the mood to enjoy the holidays.
Lake Rudolph Campground & R.V. Resort
The girls and I stayed at Lake Rudolph Campground & R.V. Resort. There are several different types of cabins and RVs on the site and we stayed in the Rudolph Christmas Cabins. The Rudolph’s Christmas Cabins feature a master bedroom with a King bed, large loft with a queen mattress and 4 twin-size mattresses, 3 flat screen TVs, electric fireplace, gas grill, fire ring, and a very large covered deck with a lighted Christmas tree! As a parent there are times that I feel like I need to just pack the entire house up and put it in my car. -_- But that’s not really realistic, so today’s list will have to suffice…LOL! Each year I say I’m going to become more organized and start clearing out clutter in my life. Well each year I fail miserably but the one area that I always seem to keep it together is our car.
I don’t know about you, but there’s something about going from being single with a car to having kids with a car. Gone are the days of no scuff marks on the back of the seats, random gooey sticky things in the floor, hairbows astray and the endless trail of snacks that never seems go away….never! I think I found a cheerio the other day and lawd knows when the last time my youngest daughter had Cheerios in the car!
So today I’d like to share my 5 things every parent (guardian, sitter, nanny, baby daddy, grandparent…you get the picture) needs in their car. Trust me…this list will help save your sanity and keep your car nice and neat. [Read more…]
