So how did Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste do on Sybil?

May 28, 2013 by Alisha 4 Comments

Recently Curls sent me a sample of their Curls Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste to try and give a review.  If you missed my last post, Check it out here, where I tried a few of their other product and I was super excited to try something new.

Each time I try a new product I always like to do it on freshly washed hair.  Some products don’t play well with other brands and I like to give them a fair chance before I dismiss them and place them in my swap pile.  I think of this more as a concentrated gel, rather than as a “paste”. It’s a translucent, amber-colored jam-like substance that smells fantastic.  The first time I used it was a complete mess!  Lawd have mercy on my hair.  Sybil was not impressed at all.  I couldn’t really think of any ways to use it and attempted to just part my hair on one side and apply the product to “control” and smooth a bit.  My hair gave me a big side-eye and I decided let’s try something else.

So the next time I used it was a week later right after I got my sides tapered down a bit.  I used the Curling Cashmere Jelly and added cute coils to the top then on dry hair I applied the Passion Fruid Curl Control Paste on the sides.  This time the results were much better and it gave a nice hold without making my hair hard as cement!  It’s always nice to have a pomade around, but so many contain waxes and silicones, and they make my hair look like it’s been glued together after application. The Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste stays fresh-looking, and light.

I think that all of my curlies with longer hair would love this product.  I could see great results with a high bun, up-do or hold and shine for a puff.  I plan to try the product out on my daughters and see what kind of results I get as well.

When I shaved my head when I went natural I exclusively used the Curls full line of products. For some reason after I got a little length their products didn’t agree with my hair anymore. Your hair looks great!!!

Tia I need to snoop through your blog for some shots of you with a shaved head! I would love to see that! It’s funny how our hair reacts to different products at each phase.

I recently started using the CURLS product line. So far, every product including the Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste does a great job of making my hair soft and pliable all day long. I primarily use it on my edges and nape and it does a fantastic job at making my edges smooth. I love that it does not flake, is non-greasy, softens my hair and gives it a very nice shine.

Angela don’t you just love when you find something that makes your hair behave and happy! I tried it on my oldest daughter to smooth down her hair in the front when she does her WNG and she had great results as well. Thanks for sharing! 😀
