May is National Small Business Month and to celebrate, The UPS Store will be taking our support of small business a step further and launghing #SmallBizSalute. As an extension of The UPS Store’s commitment to the small business community, the Small Biz Salute campaign rewards entrepreneurs for their hard work and gives them an opportunity to network and support each other, through special events and celebrations that bring small business owners together.
Dave Delaney of Futureforth will kick off the festivities and drinks and apps will be provided! You’ll also have the opportunity to apply for a chance to participate in The UPS Store pitch competition where the winner will receive $5,000! In an effort to facilitate the link between small business owners, The UPS Store is launching the month-long campaign to give entrepreneurs in several of the nation’s top small business cities – Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Houston – special opportunities to make meaningful connections with other entrepreneurs in their communities and gain valuable advice from small business experts.
Several local businesses will be selected to pitch business to a panel of judges. The pitch competition will give contestants 3 minutes to pitch their business to a live audience and panel of judges and explain how an investment can help grow their business. The best pitch wins. Apply here or on the day of the event, at the venue. If you are in the Nashville, TN area the location will be 120 3rd Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37201.
Did you know that The UPS Store does more than just shipping? No matter if your company has 2 employees or 200, The UPS Store can help you grow your business with tools like printing, banners, brochures and advertising materials. I currently rebranded my blog and have also been working on designs to revamp my wine inspired t-shirts as well (stay tuned for more details on that). One of the first things I had to do was order new business cards. One day I was at an event and got ready to pass out my cards and realized they all still had all of my old information…which is now basically worthless!
I visited The UPS Store’s online print store and was pleasantly surprised at all the options. And to make things even better if you use the code SALUTE25 you’ll save 25% off your entire order!
I always try to shop local and support small businesses around me. Some of my favorite locals businesses are:
- Homestyle Bakery
- The Cupcake Collection
- Providence Wine and Spirits – duh…it’s wine!!!
- Silver Sands Cafe
- Hattie B’s Hot Chicken
So basically if it’s food or wine related…don’t judge me! LOL
I want to know what are some of your favorite small businesses where you live. Share below in the comments and leave a link to their website if they have one.
To help celebrate small businesses, I am giving away one ($25) The UPS Store VISA gift card – Open to US residents. Giveaway will end May 2nd at midnight CST. Good Luck and Happy Entering 🙂
