Can Biotin Help Sybil Get Out of This Rut?

May 16, 2014 by Alisha 6 Comments

As many of you know I decided that I would go on a no cut challenge back in December.  Well here we are almost 5 months later and my hair seems to be growing so much slower than when I did my first big chop 2 1/2 years ago!  I was recently sent a bottle of Biotin from Eu Nautral and a bottle of Vibrance Pure Healthy Hair formula.  I’m hoping that the supplements will help Sybil get of of this rut.

Biotin refers to a water-soluble B-vitamin.  It is sometimes known as vitamin H or coenzyme R, but when you are shopping for supplements you will usually find it under either “Biotin” or “Vitamin B7.”  Biotin is among the best overall supplements you can take for a variety of applications.  Vitamin B7 plays an important role in energy metabolism, and is also a building block for the production of new cells and fatty acids.  Along with these functions, Biotin is involved with the regulation of blood glucose and the transfer of carbon dioxide.  Most peoples’ bodies actually naturally produce enough biotin on their own not to need an additional intake, but for some people with biotin deficiencies, health problems can result.  Taking biotin in supplement form can help to reduce symptoms and increase overall health.

Vibrance contains a number of different vitamins, including A, C, D3, and E.  It also contains a vitamin B complex with B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12.  The formula additionally contains biotin, iodine, zinc, selenium, and copper.  Additional herbs and supplements in the formula include horsetail extract, saw palmetto, stinging nettle extract, green tea extract, black tea extract, grape seed extract, ginkgo extract, L-Arginine, inositol, and more.  Here is how some of the essential ingredients help promote healthy hair growth.

The supplements are full of great ingredients to help Sybil become a strong, vibrant big A fro!  LOL  Sybil is currently 2.5 inches long which means my hair is growing about 1/4 of an inch each month.  When I first did my big chop in November 2011 my hair growth was closer to 1/4-1/2 inch each month.  I’ve noticed during this Now for the next month I plan to only take the Biotin capsules to  see if my hair will become stronger and help grow hair in my temple area where it has become thinner.

What kind of things do you do to keep your natural hair healthy and strong?  Feel free to share and if you are interested in buying the items listed in the post you can purchase the biotin HERE and the vibrance hair formula HERE.

Well….it seemed like it was taking forever for my hair to grow. You see all this stuff on youtube and it’s like why is mine taking so long to grow. Now it seems to be growing like a weed. I’ve reduced from washing every 2 weeks to once a month and keep it moisturized because my hair tends to eat oil. That keeps the breakage low as well as less washing for me.

My hair has been extremely dry lately so I’m going to look at reducing how often I co-wash and see if that helps. Just harder with my hair being so short…LOL!

My hair isn’t natural but I drink lots of water, take vitamins daily and try to maintain a balanced hair & food regimen.

Drinking tons of water is def the key to helping with the moisture and retention. I’ve been doing well with both and hopefully I’ll start seeing some good results soon.

I’ve seen a HUGE improvement in my nails and actually saw a bit of more growth after 30 days. My hair typically grows about 1/4 of an inch and it grew almost 1/2 during the month I was taking it.
