Sunset Gradient Nail Art

September 2, 2013 by Alisha 14 Comments

Since I’ve been experimenting a lot more with nail art, I’ve developed a love/hate relationship with gradient nail art. I LOVE the way they look but I HATE the way mine always turn out…until now! I finally got them to cooperate and turn out the way I wanted!

Last week I went to CVS and bought a few polishes since they were having a good sale. You can never have too may if you ask me! Here’s what I picked up:
Sunset Gradient Palm Tree 1

I’ve always like the combination of pink and orange and thought that would make a perfect gradient! I applied the pink Spoiled color in Plastic Flamingo first then I sponged the orange Spoiled color in Let’s Get Sushi on top.
Sunset Gradient Palm Tree 2

I loved how it turned out but it was missing a bit of a pop. So I decided to add a bit of yellow just to the tips in Amarillo from NK polish. I’ve been dying to try and do a palm tree design all summer and since Summer is now officially over, I figured better late than never!

Sunset Gradient Palm Tree 3

I love how the gradient came out but my poor palm tree needs some serious help! LOL What colors do you like to use for gradients? Please share! Linking up this week to Glitter and Gloss and Well Shut the Front Door!

Pretty!!! I never tried the gradient but then again I haven’t painted my nails until two months ago. Hahaha I had to stop biting them first.

Thank you!!! Next time I may use a fine point sharpie. I suck at doing nail art with those darn brushes.

I saw those color show ones on sale too! I also picked up a pack of 8 elf nail polishes for about $8 on sale at target 🙂 It contains a lot of pretty colors I’ve always wanted!
