My oldest daughter and I recently had a chance to attend a preview of Dinner Time Stories right here in Nashville! This dining experience has been widely popular in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the UK and Nashville is the first stop on their North American tour.
The state-of-the-art dining concept is based on the culinary exploits of a diminutive animated character known as “Le Petit Chef.” Patrons will follow the 4-inch French chef character through a two-hour, fully choreographed, six-course dining experience that explores the route of Marco Polo. The mood, music, table patterns, exquisite decor and props all change with the chapters of the story to immerse the diner into one continuous 3D projected tale.
The show’s incredible six (6) course menu takes the patron along a unique culinary journey across the regions visited by the legendary traveler on the silk route. Using the ingredients collected on the journey, guests start their dining experience with the Chef in France and make their way to Arabia, India, the Himalayan Mountains then over to China. The dessert is a culmination of all the places visited and things found along the way. 6 courses sounds like a lot, but keep in mind that your “chef” is 4 inches and the servings are portioned accordingly…LOL. Trust me you won’t leave stuffed. The theatrics of the night make up for that!
While the menu is pretty much set, you can make a few substitutions like requesting your meal be gluten-free, dairy-free or vegan. I opted for vegan so I’d be able to check out the difference. This resulted in me getting a tomato/cucumber salad twice and fresh fruit for dessert. Not what I would have liked but hey… I took one for the team! My main course was a tofu dish but my favorite dish was the Chana Masala with Chickpeas. It was so flavorful!
The show will run initially for six (6) weeks, February 2nd through March 17that the award-winning restaurant, The Standard in Nashville with one show on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm and two shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 6:00pm and 8:30pm. Show producers encourage patrons to make their reservations as soon as possible as seating is limited and expected to sell out. Shows across the globe continue to amaze audiences, immediately selling-out due to popular demand; creating on-going show extensions in various markets.
The tickets are pricey and might seem like a lot for such a set, small menu but you’re also getting the visual experience and that will blow your mind away.
Tickets are $162.50 per person. Tickets and show schedule are available now at Eventbrite.com.
*Disclosure: I was provided with 2 complimentary tickets . No other compensation was given.*
