Is it Wine O’Clock yet?

Phew we finally made it to Wednesday!  I don’t know about you but I sure do plan to enjoy a nice cool, refreshing cocktail this evening.  Between the heat and my oldest daughter being out of school for Summer break, I think know I deserve one…or two!  Last week I share an awesome recipe to make your own Mango Mascoto Popsicles and this week I though it would be cool to share this awesome recipe I stumbled across.

I don’t think I’ve had tequila since the Spring of 1998!  We won’t go into details, but it involves a few several shots of tequila followed by me dancing on a table at a bar.  Yea… just let that image marinate for a minute then you’ll realize why I was reluctant to share this recipe or for that matter even try it!

This recipe is a version of a Tequila Sunrise but I’ve decided to call it a Tequila Sunset because it will probably have me out for the count if I have more than 1!  LOL  But doesn’t the picture look awesome!

What makes this crazy combo of wine and tequila work is to make sure and have a dry red wine and lots of fruit!  If you aren’t too crazy about tequila you can also switch this up and use vodka!

Ingredients:

• 1 part tequila (or vodka)
• 1 part orange juice
• 3 parts dry red table wine
• Other fruit of choice

Directions:

Slice the fruit, and add all ingredients to a large pitcher.  Place in the refrigerator for several hours.  Once the ingredients has reached a low temperature, pull it out, give it a stir, add ice, and serve up some glasses! Note: Don’t add ice until you’re ready to serve as ice will dilute the mixture. Then again, if you want dilution, do the exact opposite! Also, feel free to use whatever fruit you like and/or have on hand.
