Bota Box Wine

Well hello and a Happy Wine Wednesday to you!  So school has been out for almost 2 weeks and I decided I needed to try something new to spice it up and add a little variety to my life which is now consumed by my 11-year old wanting to go EVERYWHERE with me.  At least my little angel still goes to the sitter’s part-time so I get a smidgen of a break in there…keyword here is “smidgen”.

Box wine has been around forever but I always felt more grown up and classy drinking my wine from a bottle with a corkscrew.  I saw a picture of this brand from someone on Instagram that I follow and I just had to track some down!

Bota Box produces premium California wine in 3-liter box and 500ml Tetra Pak, both made from environmentally-friendly packaging. Bota Box 3L is packaged in 100% recyclable, unbleached, post-consumer fiber printed with soy-based inks. Using state of the art FlexTap™ technology, their wine is kept fresh for up to six weeks after opening, allowing consumers to enjoy a glass of their award-winning wine without worrying about waste or spoilage. Bota Box offers nine popular 3-liter wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Shiraz, Old Vine Zinfandel, and a red blend called RedVolution.

Lightweight Bota 500ml Tetra Paks boast a smaller carbon footprint than the equivalent amount of 750ml glass bottles. The smart, alternative packaging and size reduce greenhouse gasses by 75% and waste by 50%, cut fuel emissions due to its lighter shipping weight, and are produced primarily from paper which is a renewable resource. Our 500ml Tetra Paks are available in Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Old Vine Zinfandel and Moscato.

So see not only am I keeping myself sane I’m ALSO leaving a smaller carbon footprint on the environment.  Take that!  LOL  I tried the Moscato because the liquor store only had 4 brands and I wanted to stick with what I know.  The cartoon is equivalent to approximately (3) 5.6 ounce glasses and only cost me $4.99 before tax.

“The Moscato offers delicate citrus blossom, honeysuckle and white peach aromas with flavors of nectarine, tropical fruit, and honey that extend into a juicy, concentrated finish. This is a light-bodied, sweeter-style wine – perfect for sipping on a warm day or served with light cheeses and fruit desserts.”

And what’s great is that the wine will stay fresh for about 45 days after you open it, but there is no way that the tiny carton I have in my fridge will make it more than a week!

“Stay thirsty my friends!”
