Natural Hair Revamp

December 22, 2012 by Alisha 18 Comments

Hey curlies and non-curlies…lol!   Last week I had the pleasure of meeting with Jessica of Phase One Image.  Since I’ve been natural I’ve only had my hair done once.  That one trim turned into a cut of 4 months of growth, so I’ve been a little leery of letting anyone near my head since then.  I trimmed my hair back during the Summer and definitely saw a big difference.  Jessica suggested that I get my hair trimmed at least every few months to help prevent breakage and retain length.  I was impressed with how well my hair turned out and couldn’t get over how straight it was… almost looked like I got a fresh perm!  LOL

Before my mim-makover I was puffing it the whole week.

Before my mini-makover I was puffing it the whole week.

Oh my! Look at Sybil all blown out!

Sybil is looking quite sassy!

All done! Let's see what kind of fun Sybil and I can get into!

I’m participating in a Hair Growth Challenge for 2013 and Sybil definitely is going to start the year off right with this great trim.  I’m already missing my coils, but hoping to keep my hair straight for up to 2 weeks.

Very cute! Do you think that straightening your hair will hurt your natural curl?!?!? I’ve been wondering….

I’m not too worried about my natural curl. I don’t plan to do this more than 1-2x a year and I was LONG overdue for a trim. Hoping to find someone in my area that is good at trimming hair without doing a blow out first.

You are a mess! LOL I’m already trying to figure out what to do with Sybil next. I’m joining on a growth challenge and I sure needed this cut.

Your hair looks sooooo shiny and healthy!!!!! I had a bad experience at a salon here. I am so so so leary of going to another one anytime soon. You my dear gave me a glimmer of hope.

Thanks Sommer! There is nothing worse than a bad experience at a salon. I had a bad one back in February when I went for a trim and had 4 months of growth chopped off. Hope your next visit is better. 😀

Your hair looked great! I like getting mine straightened when I want a change too. Like you, I’ve had some bead “trimming” (damn near butchering) experiences so I am really picky with who I’ll let do it. My goal for 2013 is to learn how to straighten it myself. I want that salon look for the low and I want to keep all my hair in the process, LOL!
