Happy Motivation Monday! So the topic this week is what’s your favorite way to burn calories. Hands down for me, it is ZUMBA! There is nothing that can compare to the comradery and fun that comes from that class. I’ve been going to the same Zumba classes each week since April and have enjoyed meeting all the other ladies (and a few men) that come to class. The best part of the class is that is DOES NOT feel at all like exercise. It is like one big party! The music and the moves really get that heart rate up and the hour always passes by so fast.
Now if you aren’t at all with dancing in public or feel like you might stand out like a sore thumb, don’t worry! These classes are judge-free and the goal is for you to have fun while you exercise. I usually try not to look in the mirror since I know I’m pretty much looking like the girls in the bottom picture…hahaha!!! There are also a ton of videos on YouTube that you could watch so you could learn a few of the basic moves. Now the only downside from me doing Zumba now is that when I hear a song out in public I immediately bust out doing moves from class…LOL!
This week also means the beginning of week 3 of my Jamie Eason’s LiveFit 12-week weight challenge class. I am feeling so pumped and actually enjoying lifting weights more than I thought I would. It doesn’t give me quite the rush that Zumba does, but I know in the long run it will help me burn even more fat and tone up! I’m also becoming more comfortable around the “pros” in the weight room and not feeling as overwhelmed as before.
