Happy Motivation Monday! So the topic this week is what’s your favorite way to burn calories. Hands down for me, it is ZUMBA! There is nothing that can compare to the comradery and fun that comes from that class. I’ve been going to the same Zumba classes each week since April and have enjoyed meeting all the other ladies (and a few men) that come to class. The best part of the class is that is DOES NOT feel at all like exercise. It is like one big party! The music and the moves really get that heart rate up and the hour always passes by so fast.
Now if you aren’t at all with dancing in public or feel like you might stand out like a sore thumb, don’t worry! These classes are judge-free and the goal is for you to have fun while you exercise. I usually try not to look in the mirror since I know I’m pretty much looking like the girls in the bottom picture…hahaha!!! There are also a ton of videos on YouTube that you could watch so you could learn a few of the basic moves. Now the only downside from me doing Zumba now is that when I hear a song out in public I immediately bust out doing moves from class…LOL!
This week also means the beginning of week 3 of my Jamie Eason’s LiveFit 12-week weight challenge class. I am feeling so pumped and actually enjoying lifting weights more than I thought I would. It doesn’t give me quite the rush that Zumba does, but I know in the long run it will help me burn even more fat and tone up! I’m also becoming more comfortable around the “pros” in the weight room and not feeling as overwhelmed as before.

Love the picture, LOL! I’ve wanted to try Zumba at home so I think I’m going to find me a YT video. My husband and I have been running, doing a lot of ab work, and weight training at the gym. I have definitely noticed some slimming in my waist, but I have to keep going! Thanks for the motivation Alisha!

Cherese it is so much fun! I can’t stand running so this is my idea of that…LOL! And isn’t it amazing how much of a difference weight training can make! I’m def convinced and will keeping it as part of my exercise regimen!

I only went to Zumba once and although it was tiresome it was the most FUN I have ever had working out! Lol

You have got to try it somemore. Or do some Salsa with your heels on and that will be an even better workout! LOL

I need to try Zumba!! I’m a poor stay-at-home Momma who has ditched the gym, but I have been dying to try Zumba for the past year. I think I have got to get into it!

Kristin a lot of places have classes for $1-$5 so try it out and see if you like it. And there is always YouTube which is free so that makes it even better…LOL! And good luck with your training for your 5K!

I am a fitness instructor but surprisingly, I’ve never tried Zumba! I need to do that! My favorite go-to method for burning calories – and building muscle and keeping my core super strong – is HiiT, High-intensity Interval Training! My second favorite is Pilates. 🙂
