Happy Monday everyone! I want to thank the beautiful Tia of The Chic Stay at Home Mom for pinning this on Pinterest. It is so me!
So lately I’ve noticed that damn near every A LOT of my friends are adding running to their fitness regimen. Some time last year I thought, heck I’ll give it a try! I downloaded about 50 10 different running apps to help prepare me to even run a marathon. I’ve seen people running and it seemed like something that I’d enjoy and would get me in good shape. HA! That lasted about a month before I couldn’t take the pain of stupid shin splints and my doctor even said that with bursitis in my knees running was the last thing I needed to do. You know it’s bad when a doctor says don’t do it.
But after reading online about how to deal with shin splints and training the body slowly to avoid trauma to my knees I thought I’d give it another try. I can honestly say I don’t like running. Wait…we are being honest here. I HATE running. There is nothing enjoyable about it. And how the hell am I gonna get in better shape if I loathe what I’m doing???
Which brings me to today’s question. What is your favorite exercise? For me it is doing Zumba or any type of group dance aerobics. I can’t explain how much fun it is to shake and shimmy my bootie to some ratchet music. And the best part is that I’m sweating up a storm, burning calories and having FUN! This week I’m hoping to add weight training to all this cardio so if you have tips on how to start a weight lifting plan, please let me know!

My favorite exercise…is running!haha I’m in with the masses. I’m one of the ones that likes to clear my head or run out my stresses. I also LOVE to work on sprints. I like the idea of going as fast as my legs will take me. But besides running it would be bench press. In my hay day when I was into heavy weight lifting I was bench pressing a total of 140lbs. It made me feel amazing to accomplish that.

I hate running also. I think even during the zombie apocalypse you wouldn’t see me running!
Tai Cheng is the only workout I’ve tried so I don’t have a favorite yet.

So glad to know I’m not alone! I’ve never done Tai Cheng and I was cracking up about not even running during the zombie apocalypse! LOL

I ran when I was younger. I was told by the doctor that it is so hard on your body. I like weight lifting and walking. Weight lifting changes your body so quickly. I have always used heavy weights and I have never built large muscles, just tight ones. I have done much weight lifting in the last year. I need to get back to it and plan to after my son goes to school.

I’m really looking forward to adding weight lifting to my regimen. Anything that will help me tone and avoid running is a plus…LOL!

I am with you on the group dance classes. Being around other fun ladies helps to motivate me. That first photo is too funny!
