Happy Monday! I am so happy to announce that I survived week 1 of Jamie Eason’s 12 week LiveFit challenge! The hardest part for me was not doing any cardio. I’ve gotten so used to hitting up the Y for Zumba 3 times a week and missed my peeps! The program says no cardio for 30 days but I LOVE doing Zumba so I may just have to sneak in 2 classes a week. Now on the flip side, I feel so much more energized and even lost a pound last week. Imagine how much I might have lost if I was actually eating cleaner!
One of my other goals to work on during this 12 weeks is to eat more meals each day. Even when I was doing the Revolt Fitness Challenge trying to eat 5-6 small meals every day was like pure torture! I plan to try and incorporate some protein rich smoothies or shakes into my meals to help me repair my muscles as well as give me added nutrients. I also noticed during this week that I wasn’t quite as hungry, which is always a plus but I have to make sure I’m eating enough so that I don’t waste all the work I’m putting in when I exercise.
During these 12 weeks I’d also like to try to find a good weightlifting buddy. Right now I’m surrounded by muscled up men and a few women that know what the hell they’re doing and then there’s me! LOL I’m not at all intimidated by them, but I’m such a social, introverted person that it’s killing me to not have a partner in there. Which is also part of the reason why I need to go back to doing my group activities. And there were so many times when I had to find a YMCA staff person about how to use a piece of equipment. I’m sure I looked a hot ratchet mess, but like the picture says, “Just do it. Even if you suck at it.”
So my motivation for this week is knowing that as much as I don’t enjoy hanging out in the weight room, I know that the end result will be fabulous! So what motivates you when you have to do something that you’re not looking forward to? And if you have any weight loss tips, stories, recipes or anything that motivates you remember to link up with The Motivation Monday Team!
I needed this post today! I want to lift weights but I’m still letting fear hold me back from getting in the weight room.
Samantha I felt intimidated big time before I started. I told myself all those muscled up meatheads had to start somewhere and they sure as heck didnt get those muscles overnight! lol. Also this program makes it so easy and in and out in less than an hour. I say give it a try for a few weeks. And trust me I suck at it but I’m still doing it…haha!!!
