MANICure Monday | The Fault in our Stars Nashville Fan Event #TFIOSTN

May 13, 2014 by Alisha 6 Comments

Last week I had the pleasure of attending “The Fault in our Stars” Nashville Fan event.  My good blogging friend Liz of Yes/No Films was able to get us Media passes so we were up close and personal with the stars and author.  To get ready for the event I decided that it would be perfect for me to create nail art based on the movie.  One of the famous lines from the story is the dialogue between the two main characters “Okay?”  “Okay.”

I didn’t have any blue that matched the color of the book so I had to use what I had.  I used black and white nail art pens from Sally Hansen, Maybelline’s Color Show Color Me Blue and Rush 60-second high speed polish in Blue.

Because the spotted polish is not opaque, I painted 2 coats of the Rush blue color first followed by one coat of the Color Me Blue.  I then used the black and white nail art pens to draw clouds on 2 nails.  The key to using the pens to write is to make sure the basecoast is completely dry before you proceed.  I wrote okay on the nails in alternating colors and voila!  I love how it turned out and it was so quick and easy which is always the best kind of nail art.

Now that my nails were all done the next thing to do was to hit the streets for The Fault in Our Stars event in downtown Nashville.  The best part was that my friend Liz also got passes for her friend and my daughter.  I wish I could have recorded the reaction I got when I told her that we would get a chance to attend the event.  She screamed (imagine a high-pitched tween scream) and then burst into tears…it was priceless!

Since we had media passes I was able to get some pretty good shots!  I tried taking a few of those infamous “celebrity selfies” and ended up looking like Crazy Eyes from Orange is the New Black…LOL!!!

Say Cheese!!!

How have you been wearing your nails lately?  I tried tribal art nails for like the umpteenth time and they actually came out kinda cute this time.  Can’t wait to share them with you all next week!  Also linking up this week with Glitter and Gloss and Well Shut the Front Door!

Thanks for that shoutout! You should add that video Travis took of your daughter once he gets it to you, ha. And I agree with your selfie, also – lol!

And thanks again for driving! It was fun seeing you in TN.

LOVE the “Okay?” “Okay.” Gah! This book was just the best!!

And yes, I agree that you may have a touch of Crazy Eyes going on in your selfie. Haha! But still, SO COOL that you got to go!
