If you’ve been with me for a while you know I got into plants and gardening last year. And by got into them I went down the rabbit hole of the botanical world and went from zero plants to about 50 inside and a raised garden bed and about 20 on the patio….oops!
A lot of times I like to peruse different nurseries so I can touch and feel the plants and see what grabs my attention. I think I’ve hit just about every plant shop and big box store within 30 minutes of me and decided I wanted to see if ordering online would be just as much fun. And to my surprise I LOVED online shopping for plants.
Walmart sells live plants online from Costa Farms® and I had a chance to check out some of their amazing outdoor plants just in time to get my patio ready for hot girl summer! Costa Farms® might be more passionate about plants than me! They grow more than 1,500
varieties on 5,200 acres. They’ve also started innovating and got into tropical and houseplants.
Last summer I power washed my patio, got new patio furniture and with the help of my amazing neighbor hung up patio lights. It’s slowly but surely becoming my little outdoor oasis right in the middle of the ‘burbs!
Now the only thing missing were pops of color with Island Blooms. I had a few annuals I put out last summer but of course they all died a slow, miserable death because Nashville winters can be brutal. One of my favorite flowers are hibiscus. I love them so much I even got them tattooed on my forearm.
The ordering process is pretty simple and straight forward. You pick what you want, add to cart…and viola you’re done! The first thing I looked for were hibiscus plants. I was so happy to see there were 3 different colors: yellow, orange and a orangish-red. Next I added some mandevillas, bird of paradise, dracaena and Hawaiian TI. During the summer I love to have a variety of annuals, perennials and indoor & outdoor plants. I’ll even take a few from inside and let them live their best tropical life’s outside since it can get pretty hot and humid in Nashville this time of year.
The thought of loading up my car with plants and soil going everywhere is not fun. Also I’ve had to forgo buying certain plants because they were too big to fit in my car. Costa Farms® has a wide variety of plants on the Walmart site that you can choose from. And the best part is that they’ll be carefully packaged and shipped right to your door!
All of my plants arrived intact and in great shape. The next part of getting new plants for the patio is always the hardest for me. I can never really figure out how I want to have them all arranged and end up switching everything around at least 3 times before I’m happy!
Now that the first part of getting the patio ready for my hot girl summer is complete I had to make sure that I was going to look cute while sitting out there pretending I’m on a resort. The girls and I have been enjoying (a little TOO much) online shopping at SHEIN. I have more than enough outfits now to take a daily summer outfit pic now…LOL! Since I didn’t get a chance to do any Caribbean island hoping last summer I figured why not put all these outfits to use on the patio and I can at least pretend like I’m somewhere else.
I’m ready to enjoy the rest of the summer now that my patio is complete. How will you be adding pops of color to your indoor and outdoor décor this summer? Be sure to visit Costa Farms® Island Blooms from Walmart to view all of the available plants.
