Listen…not only was 2020 one of the worst years with a global pandemic it was also a year that I had to become a “virtual” teacher due to school being closed. There is a reason I changed my major from Elementary Education fifty eleven years ago. That reason is that I realize I do not have the patience of a Saint and therefore me trying to help my child with their school work was setting her up for failure and me up for a nervous breakdown!
My oldest daughter finished school early and graduated last year. So luckily she missed out on the hot mess that everything in the spring semester became. My youngest daughter was left with me trying to figure out how to help her and us both becoming frustrated. I knew with this school year we would need the assistance of a tutor because my way of teaching was not getting us anywhere.
I’ve always been interested in finding her a tutor but some of the places in our area would cost over $1000 a month. For that price I’m going to need you basically being a one-on-one teacher for my child and not just a tutor! EBO Educational Services reached out to me about their tutoring services and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my daughter. The tutor we met with took the time to get to know Morgan and even got her out of her shell a bit. He asked a lot of open ended questions to try and gauge what was going on, her favorite subjects and where she felt she was struggling the most. I loved that he took the time get to know her so because this will best help him figure out the most effective way to help tutor her.
Three Reasons Why Online Tutoring Saved My Sanity:
- I work for a non-profit which means I basically work for free! Ok not really…but dang it feels like it sometimes. What I loved about EBO Educational Services is that it was affordable. They list their prices right on their site and there is no long term commitment you have to make. One-on-one tutoring starts at $45/session, weekly homework help is $40/week and they also offer SAT/ACT/ASVAB for $240 for a 4 session block.
- Tutoring is personalized. During the time that he met with Morgan he had a chance to see her strengths and weaknesses and made suggestions on ways to improve things on her own.
- Its easy to sign up and get started. Listen I work overnights and I need things to be as simple as possible. You can sign up for a free consultation online or schedule a complimentary 30 minute session.
Now that school is out for the summer we plan to take what we’ve learn and build on those to prepare for the Fall. Tutoring also isn’t for children that may be falling behind its also a great way to help your child grow and be challenged even more. For us I feel like having someone we can virtually help with school will be a great benefit for years to come and plan to continue to use the program.
