First off… can you believe that Spring is almost over?!?! How the heck did that happen? That means kids will be out soon for the summer. Now if you’ve been following me for any amount of time you know that I love me some wine! One of my favorite sayings is “Everyone needs to believe in something… I believe I’ll have another glass of wine!”
So in today’s Wine Wednesday I thought I would share a wine slushy recipe. With Summer approaching soon, what better way to enjoy the warm weather than with a nice, cool slushy drink!
This recipe will serve approximately 6 people, but hey if you’re like me, then you won’t want to share!
- 1 bottle of Riesling
- 2 cups hulled strawberries
- 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
Set aside one cup of Riesling in the fridge to chill. In a food processor, puree strawberries with the remaining wine, lime juice and sugar. Pour the mixture into ice-cube trays and freeze until solid. When you’re ready to serve (or drink), puree the ice cubes with the remaining wine in your blender.
Now how easy is that! I will definitely be making this drink soon! What is your favorite to make? Stay tuned for next week’s edition of Wine Wednesday! I hope you all enjoyed today’s Wine Slushy recipe!
